About the Artist

“Putting paint to panel is one of my greatest joys, inspired by time spent contemplating nature. Sharing this with others through my work is my greatest satisfaction.”

After studies at the Rhode Island School of Design and Lyme Academy of Fine Art, followed by years of plein-air painting, Chris Karpinski's works have become non-objective allusions to places or feelings remembered.

Created in the moment, with diverse methods of paint application, each mark leads to the next and the process takes over. There is much scraping and sanding with unintended results and surprises. Through color, light, texture, and the inspiration of nature's beauty, Karpinski hopes to generate a sense of serenity. 

In addition to her formal education at RSDI and Lyme Academy, Karpinski was also awarded a residency at Cill Rialaig in County Kerry Ireland and has exhibited at the Royal Academy in London. Her work can be found in various galleries and in private and corporate collections here and abroad.
